We have organised a screening of The Beautiful Losers, a film celebrating the spirit behind one of the most influential cultural moments of a generation. It’s going down on November 3rd at the Prescription Art Gallery on Church St, Brighton.

In the early 1990’s a loose-knit group of likeminded outsiders found common ground at a little NYC storefront gallery. Rooted in the DIY (do-it-yourself) subcultures of skateboarding, surf, punk, hip hop & graffiti, they made art that reflected the lifestyles they led. Developing their craft with almost no influence from the “establishment” art world, this group, and the subcultures they sprang from, have now become a movement that has been transforming pop culture.

Every now and then a video comes along that makes you go, ‘how the hell did they do that?!’ German clothing brand, Ucon have just done that with their latest ad simply titled, The Ucon Ad. Inspired by the underwater world and Jacques Cousteau, this is something special.

I don’t think this needs any explanation, we’ve all been there!
